As you may have seen last week, I partnered up with Mercer's Wine Ice Cream to demonstrate how I used their 4 popular flavors as a tasting element for a Fall happy hour at home (you have until 5pm today to enter the GIVEAWAY contest). What you may have also noticed in the photos was this enormous Fall cheese board with aged meats, dark chocolate, and everything in between. The entire occasion was absolutely splendid. So, today I'll be revealing how I put together my version of the ultimate Fall cheese board for entertaining guests at home.
When I visited the grocery store, namely Trader Joe's, I picked out ingredients that were in season and that I knew paired well together like prosciutto and brie. For a complete charcuterie, you'll generally want to have a variety of fruit, hard and soft cheese, aged meats, nuts, a sweet element like chocolate, and bread or small toasts so that your guests can make tiny sandwiches with ease.
The key to creating a visually stimulating cheese board is to add a variety of textures and colors. In addition, you don't want everything to appear too symmetrical or "perfect" because it takes away the creativity in the presentation. After I placed all of my ingredients on the board, I used various decorations such as mini pumpkins, full-sized fruit, sprigs of rosemary, and wild flowers to fill in blank space.
-Natural wood serving platter
-Mini, assorted pumpkins
-Sprigs of rosemary
I hope you all enjoyed my tutorial for creating the ultimate Fall cheese board!
