There's a reason why Fall is most people's favorite season of the year; when I see the leaves changing to beautiful red and orange hues, it gets me excited about the approaching holidays and family time. For some reason, Sam and I tend to do more outdoors during Autumn. We've almost already checked off all of the items on our Fall bucket list, including going to the pumpkin patch, camping overnight with friends, and dressing up for Halloween.
One of the items that wasn't expressed on my Fall bucket list, but has been a goal of mine for the past few months was learning how to make a tea latte from scratch. My favorite beverage year-round has to be a London Fog Tea Latte (a good, oaky Chardonnay is a close second). So, one could imagine that when the weather gets chilly my hankering for it goes through the roof. I just love how this specific latte manages to be creamy and light, somehow at the same time.
I knew at some point I would have to learn how to make this recipe from scratch, primarily because it's not exactly cheap on the go. But, also because the caffeine rush hour at Starbucks adds an unnecessary 15 minute delay to my morning. The reason that I had never tried making a latte at home before is because it seemed like a daunting task and I had assumed that I'd needed high-tech equipment and a cute accent (not the case, by the way).
Mastering this recipe is surprisingly easy and infusing it with lavender will make your guests (and your Instagram followers) think your a fancy, French barista. #Win
