Easter has always been an exciting holiday in my house. For as long as I can remember, the day has revolved around decorating Easter eggs, the hunt for our hidden baskets, and loads of unnecessary candy. Of course, Easter is about much more than just those trivial things but, spending the day surrounded by family and loved ones has always felt very special to me.
Last year, my family and I decided to spend the day at the National Zoo in DC with the kids. This turned out to be the best idea we've had yet. No one had to get dressed up or stressed out about sticking to a schedule. We all had such a blast chasing the kids around, imitating animal noises (embarrassingly), and having a low-key picnic for lunch. We haven't planned anything yet for this year since the kids and my sister are now back in Arizona. That being said, I can imagine that the day will be filled with something similar that will allow us to simply enjoy each other's company.
Since I already told you that this holiday (and really any holiday) translates to a ton of sweets for my family, I figured that adding in a few, sparkly cupcake toppers might make us feel a little less guilty about it. They're so cute and festive, right? I mean, at the very least, that gives you a free pass to stuff your face with as many as you'd like.
Plus, these cupcake toppers are just so easy to make. It'd be plain out irresponsible for you to show up to a family gathering with cupcakes and no Easter bunny on top. Truly. I mean, especially if the said cupcakes are store-bought. Which, in my case, they are because I'm lazy on holidays and I'd rather spend the time doing something much more exciting. Like, for example, coating my eggs in glitter and praying that Sam doesn't scold me for making the house a mess. To be fair, I'm usually still picking gold specks of glitter out of my (and Oliver's) ears 3 weeks after, too,
