Every week, Sam and I look forward to Sunday mornings because we head over to the Farmers Market downtown and pick up our favorite local produce items for the week. Sometimes, we'll come home lugging heavy bags of apples, handfuls of roasted nuts or fresh eggs, and sometimes we'll walk around the market for an hour and get nothing but coffee and free entertainment. But, it's our designated time to relax and plan our last full day of the weekend together before heading back to work. Even if that plan sometimes consists of simply lying on the couch in our pajamas and drinking moscow mules for the rest of the day. ;)
The market was suspiciously empty this past Sunday (lucky for us, right!?) We grabbed the must-have's: french baquette, Zeke's coffee, freshly baked donuts - missing from the photos because we ate them so fast - and a korean barbeque breakfast sandwich, before popping a squat on the nearest bench to enjoy and people-watch.
With the holiday season upon us, it feels like an extra nice treat on the weekends to slip into easy, comfortable clothes without much thought. Converse sneakers, a baseball cap, and a pair of ripped jeans? Count me in. That is the main reason that I love this dark bomber jacket so much.
Last weekend when Sam and I were in Tilghman for Thanksgiving, we snuck away to the outlets to do some quick shopping. I picked up this jacket from the Kendall & Kylie collection (on sale now!) and I haven't been able to safely store it away since. It goes with so many items in my closet and it adds an edgy vibe to any look without going over the top.
The black, suede jacket that Sam wore has been a staple in his closet for years. And, since suede and velvet seem to be the "it" fabrics of this season, he brought it out of retirement for a casual pairing with a Nudie Jeans beanie, Joe's Jeans joggers, and his Android Homme sneakers. You can shop both of our full looks at the bottom of this post!

Welcome to our first gift guide of the holiday season! Since today is CYBER MONDAY, we decided to stop procrastinating and wallowing in our Thanksgiving laziness and kick off this series today. There are so many good sales out there right now so, it's really no surprise that we found you a slew of great gifts under $150. Breaking the bank is not on my Christmas to-do list.
Sam picked out the gifts for the men in your life (the stuff they really want) since they are notoriously the most difficult to shop for. And, of course, I picked out the gifts for the women in your life (or, let's be honest - you) because I just couldn't resist doing a little extra shopping this year.

Next up is our gift guide for him & her featuring our favorites under $50 so, stay tuned! What is on your holiday shopping list this year?

The holiday season "officially" begins tomorrow. It's crazy how I was just sharing my mint lemonade recipe with you and now it's 30 degrees outside and I can barely take Oliver to the park without being swaddled in this faux fur blanket (me, not him). Sam and I are headed to the beach tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with his family and I couldn't be more excited to relax, wear my pie-eating pants, and shop online with his Mom.
We have so much to be thankful for this year. As Sam and I enjoy our 6th Thanksgiving together, and prepare ourselves to buy a house, I feel like our lives are in the best place that they have ever been. We have grown up together so much in the past few years - just last weekend, we sold our souls to purchase our very first mattress together before almost losing it on the highway in a spontaneous tornado. We learned on Saturday that not only is #adulting more expensive that we anticipated, it's also potentially deadly.
Besides Sam and Oliver and not currently being in jail for causing a major accident, I am beyond thankful for my family. I get to see my big sister and her kids in a few weeks for the first time since last Thanksgiving. The little munchkins have gotten SO old and I can't wait to swing them around on my shoulders and make the biggest, sugariest, mess while decorating cookies. Also, my best friend (and fellow blogger) is moving to the city in January and it's going to be majorly nice to have a bit of girls' time - aka drinking wine and discreetly stalking our 5 year high school reunion via social media. I'm sure you'll be seeing her around here soon.
I swear I could go on and on with the people, wine bottles, and stretchy pants that I am thankful for this year but, at some point, you're just going to skip to the bottom of this post for this cocktail recipe anyway, so... let's get to the good stuff.
(Makes 2 cocktails)
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka or gin and add 4 ounces of cranberry juice instead*
Usually, the day after Thanksgiving, Sam and I put up our Christmas tree, make turkey and brie paninis and holiday cocktails, and he lets me blast the Mariah Carey playlist for the first time all year (YAY). Needless to say, I am going to be drinking this moscow mule from now until February because it is SO festive and tasty. The flavors perfectly compliment one another and it's super easy to make. Plus, these copper mugs are Instagram-worthy-cute and keep my cocktail nice and chilled until the very last sip. #vimportant

Thanksgiving is only ONE week away! This is not a drill. How have we begun the holiday season already? *faints* While I must admit that the cooler weather is taking some getting used to, I am so excited to spend quality time with mine and Sam's family in the coming weeks. In our (non-traditional) Thanksgiving recipe roundup last week, I shared our plans for the holiday which include relaxing at the beach with Oliver and gathering around the table for paella and pie.
Since we recently launched our men's style series, Sam and I decided to shoot a little inspiration for the approaching Thanksgiving celebrations. I know how difficult it can be to find an outfit that is both conservative (for the in-law's or your grandparents, ya know?), yet still makes you feel confident enough for that token Instagram shot of you holding the pie. #necessary
I found this brown leather skirt at Express (you can shop it below) and it's safe to say that I am obsessed. I truly think that it will go with so many items in my closet, even after the holidays have passed.
I also snagged the sweater I am wearing from the Express sale; I just love the tiny details on the sleeves and back. I finished my look off with my go-to, nude heels from DSW, a hand-knit scarf made by Sam's Aunt (my favvvorite), and lastly, I dressed this look up with delicate, gold accessories.
Side note: do you guys see how quickly my dark hair is fading!?! I guess I really am meant to be a blonde after all.
For Sam's holiday style, he paired his new, Lucky Brand herringbone vest with a soft, white button down, dark-colored jeans, and his Breitling Avenger II GMT. He finished off the look with a pair of casual boots. We got his vest on major sale at Nordstrom Rack and judging by how handsome he looks in it, I can tell you that this piece is going to be a Fall and Winter staple in his closet for sure.

In case you missed this post last week, we announced that the blog would be gaining a new member! Not that Sam hasn't played a huge part in the blog's success thus far but, now he'll be in front of the camera rather than behind the scenes. We have now launched a men's style feature in addition to our current women's series. This way, when you're shopping for yourself, especially during the holidays, you can shop for your man (or brother, Dad, or son) at the same time! #bonus
Since you'll be seeing Sam's face around here a bit more, I thought it might be fun to do a quick interview to get to know us as a couple better!
If you're up for the challenge, get your partner involved and do this interview together as a fun activity for an at-home date night (we answered our questions separately and then shared with each other when we were finished)!

I've mentioned on social media recently that a bit of change would be coming to the blog and, well, today is the day and I couldn't be more excited! It's not my darker hair, although that's a big change for me as well. If you've been following along on the blog, it's likely that you're familiar with Sam, my boyfriend of almost 6 years. One thing that you wouldn't have known is that he has phenomenal style - sometimes I swear that his wardrobe is better than mine (in many ways, it is!)
Sam has been a huge part of Anna Elizabeth, although it has been mostly behind the scenes - editing, photographing, and advertising. However, after discussing the future of Anna Elizabeth with him a few months ago, we both decided that we'd like to steer it in the direction of a women and men's style blog (as well as keeping other series like cooking/cocktails, personal posts, and more).
There is a growing market for men's style on weekly blogs; gone are the days of over-sized sports jerseys, lacrosse shorts, and flip flops. Ever since I've known Sam (fun fact: we met in high school), I've admired his unique sense of style. I would describe his style as relaxed without being "sloppy". He's always been able to pull off the "cool guy" look, sometimes discovering new fashion trends even before I do.
A large majority of our readers are either dating or married so, what better way to shop than to do it for yourself and your man at the same time? It can be hard to coordinate outfits with your partner without seeming too "matchy-matchy", especially during the cooler seasons for family photos and special events. So, I'm excited to re-launch our style series now just in time for the holidays!
Most weekends Sam and I spend downtown in Baltimore, grabbing brunch at our new favorite place (Order & Chaos), exploring with Oliver, or just relaxing inside our townhome. We've always had a very playful relationship so, we're constantly laughing and joking around and I love how our photographer, Jade Nikkole, was able to capture that in this first session.
I'm excited for this new chapter with Anna Elizabeth and I hope you all are, too!

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and usually, for me, that means tons of turkey, travel, and family reunions. After last year's debacle, driving hours to Pennsylvania just to turn around, head home, and ultimately order a McFlurry for dinner after 15 minutes at our family reunion, I've decided to switch it up. This year, Sam, Oliver, and I are headed to... THE BEACH! It'll be my first year out of 6 spending Thanksgiving with Sam's family and we couldn't be more excited (especially Oliver; he loves a good adventure!)
And, since we're already going non-traditional, we've decided to embrace it and not even have turkey this year at all (*gasp*). Confession: it's not my favorite anyway. Although I'll still be making my yearly pecan pie, the main dish will be paella. Mmmmm. Sometimes it's fun to switch it up, right? That's what has inspired me today to round up 12 of my favorite recipes for a non-traditional Thanksgiving feast. Enjoy!
Are you planning a non-traditional Thanksgiving feast? How are you switching it up this year?
